Chenyang Lu, PhD
Fullgraf Professor of Computer Science & Engineering
As a computer scientist, Chenyang Lu works extensively on AI and machine learning for patient monitoring, electronic health record analytics, and intervention.
Christine O’Brien, PhD
Assistant Professor of Biomedical Engineering and Instructor of Radiology
The O’Brien lab will develop optical tools that tackle important challenges spanning maternal health, reproductive cancers, and women’s global health, using optical spectroscopy, optical imaging and simulation techniques to develop devices that can be translated to impact patient care. Active projects include developing wearables to detect adverse maternal health conditions including postpartum hemorrhage, developing novel optical sensors for early detection of sepsis, using optical spectroscopy tools to understand and monitor fertility treatment, and developing a screening tool for early detection of gynecologic cancers.
Arin Oestreich, PhD
Research Instructor in Orthopaedic Surgery
Arin Oestreich’s research focuses on how maternal obesity influences pregnancy health, fetal skeletal development, and the long term metabolic and musculoskeletal health of the adult offspring. She is currently using multiomic techniques to investigate how maternal obesity during pregnancy epigenetically regulates cells within the developing fetal knee joint.
