Two graduate students from the lab of Matthew Bersi, assistant professor of mechanical engineering & materials science in the McKelvey School of Engineering at Washington University in St. Louis, received recognition at the Summer Biomechanics, Bioengineering and Biotransport Conference.
Master’s student Savannah Chatman was a runner up in the MS-Level Student Paper Competition under the “Solid Mechanics” category for her work titled “Uniaxial Biomechanical Response of Murine Uterine Tissue After Surgery-Induced Scarring.”
Doctoral student Niyousha Karbasion was one of 36 finalists out of nearly 200 applicants in the PhD-Level Student Paper Competition for her presentation titled “Ex Vivo Minoxidil Treatment Increases Elastic Fiber Deposition in the Murine Vaginal Wall.”
